Chain Reaction

I live directly across from another apartment. For nights now, I’ve noticed one of its residents staring at me. They hover in front of the window. I can feel their eyes on me. I can’t leave. I’m afraid to even sleep.

I’ve tried catching the attention of the woman in the same building three floors down, but she won’t look up; she won’t notice!
